Connect to Netsapiens for Reporting and Recording Only

This guide only covers the necessary steps for connecting to a Netsapiens UC for logging user calls and accessing recording. It does not cover settings needed for Contact Center features.

Use Case

You have:

  • A Netsapiens UC
  • Xima Voice - Basic User AND/OR Voice - Office User licenses
    • Higher licenses require additional configuration steps.

Accessing your Tenant

Tenant URL and Password

Upon starting your subscription, you should have received the following from your purchasing contact:

This is a URL with your company name. A common example would be https:// yourcompanyname-ns.xima.cloud

You should also receive a username and a password for an Administrative user account.
Alternatively, your email address may be the required credential

For example:

Log into the Service

Use your provide username and password on the login screen

NOTE: The "Email Address" field can your associated email address (if configured to do so) or your provided username.

If either the username/email or the password are incorrect, you will receive "Incorrect email address or password" message. It will not be clear which is incorrect for security protocol.


Target Platform Configuration

This step connects Xima to your Netsapiens UC to obtain user and group lists, monitor user activity, and access applicable recordings.

  1. While logged into Xima with an Administrator level user account, select the settings cog in the left navigation bar and then select "Target Platform"

  2. Populate all fields with details of your Netsapiens domain and API connection

  3. A full step-by-step guide of configuring the Target Platform menu can be found here:

  4. Save your changes


License Users

  1. While still logged in as an Administrator, navigate to "User Management" and "Phone Licensing":


  2. Here you will find the full list of UC users as populated in Netsapiens.

    1. If you do not see the list of users, check your Target Platform configuration in the steps above.
      In particular, check the Admin Username and the Admin Password configured
      You may also attempt to log into the Netsapiens voice portal with the entered credentials and confirm access and that you can see users.

  3. Select the radio button for "Basic Phone User" or "Office Phone Users" for the given users


    NOTE: Access to user recordings is limited to "Office Phone Users" and higher

  4. Save your changes


Verify Users are Set to Be Recorded

Note that Xima is not performing the recording step of agents using their UC phones. Rather, Xima is requesting and pulling a copy of completed recordings from the Netsapiens UC via an API.

Therefore, you should verify that an agent is set to be recorded within Netsapiens at this time or if you are not seeing their recordings in Xima later.

You may also verify if the recordings are accessible inside of the UC voice portal. Xima cannot pull was does not exist.


What's Next?

You should now see new phone calls and recordings populate in Xima's Cradle to Grave and in Reports. It will not retroactively pull past data from before the two solutions were properly integrated.
