UC Time Frames

Defines named time frames in the Xima UCaaS Admin Portal — business hours, holidays, or a catch-all — used to route calls differently depending on when they arrive.

A time frame is a named, reusable schedule that other routing destinations — an Auto Attendant, a DID, a Call Queue — reference to determine where a call goes depending on when it arrives. Time frames are owned either by the domain (shared across the phone system) or by an individual user.

Accessing Time Frames

  1. Select Time Frames from the top of the Xima UCaaS Admin Portal
  2. A list of owners with configured time frames is shown — typically Domain, plus any individual users with their own time frames, each with a count of how many time frames they own

The list can be filtered by searching for a specific user, and narrowed with Hide Users Without Time Frames or Hide System Users.

  1. Select an owner (for example, Domain) to view that owner's individual time frames, listed with their Name, Owner, When, Recurrence, and Ends On

Hovering over the i icon next to a time frame's When value shows the dates or hours it contains. Ends On is not itself an entered field — it reflects the last date the time frame's configuration resolves to, and reads Never for a time frame that recurs indefinitely.

Creating a Time Frame

Selecting Add Time Frame opens a tabbed form, starting on its Type tab:

FieldDescription
NameA descriptive name for the time frame. Cannot be changed once saved.
WhenDetermines how the time frame is defined, and which tab appears next to configure it — see below

When

TypeDescription
AlwaysA catch-all applied when no other configured time frame matches
Days of the WeekA recurring weekly schedule, with optional start and end dates
Specific DatesOne or more one-off date-and-time ranges, with optional recurrence
HolidaysA set of pre-defined local or international holidays, with rules for how each is observed
CustomAn additional configuration option present in the portal; not yet documented here

Selecting Always requires no further tab and can be saved directly from Type.

Always Configure a Catch-All

An Always time frame should be configured on any destination that uses time frames, so that a call not matching any other defined time frame still has somewhere to go.

Configuring a Days of the Week Time Frame

Selecting Days of the Week on the Type tab reveals its own tab:

FieldDescription
Days of the WeekOne or more days the time frame applies to
RecurrenceHow often the schedule repeats, for example Every Week

Selecting Save creates the time frame.

Configuring a Specific Dates Time Frame

Selecting Specific Dates on the Type tab reveals its own tab:

FieldDescription
Specific DatesOne or more date-and-time ranges, added with the + icon
RecurrenceWhether the date range repeats; defaults to Does Not Recur

Selecting Save creates the time frame. Additional date ranges can be added to an existing time frame later by selecting its Pencil icon, then the + icon.

Configuring a Holidays Time Frame

Selecting Holidays on the Type tab reveals its own tab:

FieldDescription

TimeThe time range the time frame applies to on each selected holiday; defaults to 12:00 am to 11:59 pm
RecurrenceWhether the holidays repeat on future occurrences; defaults to Does Not Recur

Selecting Next advances to the Observed Holidays tab, which sets rules for holidays that fall on a non-workday:

FieldDescription
WorkweekThe days considered working days, used to calculate the next or prior workday
If Holiday Is On [Day]Set individually for each day of the week — see below

If Holiday Is On

RuleDescription
Observe on Holiday OnlyThe holiday is observed on its actual date, even if that date is not a workday
Observe on Next WorkdayIf the holiday falls on a non-workday, it is observed on the next workday instead
Observe on Prior WorkdayIf the holiday falls on a non-workday, it is observed on the prior workday instead

Selecting Save creates the time frame.
