UC Music On Hold
Manages the hold music and message audio assigned to the domain, or overridden per Call Queue, in the Xima UCaaS Admin Portal.
Music On Hold (MOH) audio is managed per owner — the domain as a whole, or an individual Call Queue that overrides the domain default.

Understanding the Owner List
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Owner | Domain for the shared default, or the name and extension of the Call Queue overriding it |
| Type | Domain or Queue |
| Music | The number of audio files uploaded for hold music, or Inherit to use the parent's (the domain's, for a queue) |
| Messages | The number of message audio files uploaded, or Inherit to use the parent's |
| Space Used | Storage used by that owner's uploaded audio, in KB |
Inherit vs. OverrideA Call Queue set to
Inheritfor Music or Messages uses the domain's shared audio. Uploading files directly to the queue overrides the domain default for that queue only.
Managing an Owner's Music On Hold
An owner's page has an Enable Music on Hold toggle at the top, plus separate Music and Messages panels.
Music
If no music has been uploaded for the owner, the panel notes that music will be inherited from the parent default (the domain's system defaults, for the domain itself; the domain's own music, for a queue) and offers Add Music.
Selecting Add Music opens a form:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Browse | Selects an audio file from the computer to upload |
| Song Name | A name or description for the track |
| Copyright Warning | A static reminder that a license may be required from ASCAP, composers, or another performing rights organization for commercially licensed audio |
Selecting Upload adds the track.
Messages
The Messages panel manages an optional one-time introduction plus a numbered list of spoken messages that play back to back, in order, between hold music.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Introduction | An optional message that plays once, before the first numbered message, added with its own + icon |
| Numbered Messages | Play in order after the introduction; each shows a play control, Duration, and Filesize, and can be reordered with the drag handle |
| Interval (clock icon) | The number of seconds between messages |
Selecting Add Message opens a form:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| New Message | The message's source — Text-To-Speech, Upload, or Record, configured the same way as an Auto Attendant greeting — see UC Auto Attendants |
| Copyright Warning | A static reminder that a license may be required from ASCAP, composers, or another performing rights organization for commercially licensed audio |
Selecting Upload adds the message. Once the last message finishes, playback repeats from the beginning.
Configuring a Queue's Intro Music On Hold
A queue's Messages audio is what plays through Require Intro MOH in its Pre Queue Options — see UC Call Queues.
Common Use CaseRequiring the Intro MOH to complete is typically used when a legal or compliance notice must play in full before a caller can reach an agent.
