Desktop Client — Administration
Desktop Client (Chronicall Desktop) is the Java-based workstation application that provides the only path into the CCaaS Admin Client, the interface behind nearly every administrative category in this guide.
Desktop Client — also referred to as Chronicall Desktop — is a Java-based application installed on Supervisor and Administrator workstations. It is the exclusive path into the CCaaS Admin Client, the interface behind most administrative categories in this guide, including User Management, Contact Center, Routing Configuration, Admin (System), API Enablement, AI Configuration, and platform-specific administration such as RC/ACO and NetSapiens. Installation steps are covered on Desktop Client Installation.
What Requires Desktop Client
Not every part of CCaaS is reached the same way. Reporting and agent interactions are fully web-based and need no separate application; the rest of the platform's configuration is only reachable by launching Desktop Client.
| Interface | Access Method | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| CCaaS Admin Client | Desktop Client (Java application) | Nearly all administrative configuration — User Management, Contact Center, Routing Configuration, Admin (System), API Enablement, AI Configuration, and platform-specific administration (RC/ACO, NetSapiens) |
| Web Portal (Manager) | Browser only | Running and scheduling reports, editing wallboards, and managing teams |
| Agent Client (CCAC) | Browser only | Handling voice, chat, and email interactions as an agent |
Admin (System)Is One Section, Not the Whole Client
Admin (System)is a single menu within the CCaaS Admin Client, covering platform-level settings such as channel accounts, recording storage, single sign-on, and SIP extension registration — see Admin (System) Overview. The Admin Client as a whole also includes User Management, Contact Center, Routing Configuration, and every other administrative category in this guide.
Connecting to the CCaaS Admin Client
Desktop Client is downloaded and launched from within the CCaaS web portal, then authenticates using the same account used to sign into that web portal.
- Navigate to
Launch Client > Desktop Client - Select
Open Xima CCaaS Desktopfrom the browser prompt - Log in using the same username and password used for the CCaaS web portal
Same Credentials as the Web PortalConnecting to the CCaaS Admin Client through Desktop Client does not use a separate login — it authenticates with the same account used to sign into the CCaaS web portal.
Covers how the same web portal URL and credentials route a Manager, Agent, Supervisor, or Administrator into the correct interface.
