# Target Platform

Connects CCaaS to the underlying phone system platform, a prerequisite for registering SIP extensions.

Target Platform Configuration authenticates and connects CCaaS to whichever phone system platform is in use — NetSapiens, RC/ACO, 3CX, Metaswitch, or another supported system. This must be completed before any SIP extensions can be registered — see [SIP Extensions](https://guide.xima.cloud/docs/admin-system-sip-extensions). The connection method and fields differ by platform: some authenticate through OAuth, others through manually entered SIP and API details.
